Parents’ Evening

Parents’ evenings are a chance for you to meet your child’s class teacher, perhaps look around the classroom, and even have a look at their books.

However, you often only have 5-10 mins to talk to the teacher so it is best to plan your questions and know what you want to ask in advance, especially if you have concerns your child is displaying dyslexic traits.

Top tip: write down your questions and take your list of questions with you.

Here are our top 5 questions to ask at parents’ evening:

  1. Is my child working at the expected level for their age in reading, writing and spelling?

  2. Are there any areas of the curriculum that my child is receiving extra support in?

  3. What are my child’s strengths?

  4. How can I work with the school to support my child at home?

  5. Can we meet again soon to discuss my child’s progress and their next steps?
